Texture was added to the surface before the decoupage was applied, followed by delicate washes and translucent layers of colour over the imagery. These layers soften and integrate the design, creating a beautifully aged, painterly finish with depth and movement.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRather than aiming for a perfectly uniform finish, I’ve allowed the character of the original pine and the creative process to remain part of the piece.
