Layered Burgundy Console Table. Black & Copper Tones. Eclectic Statement Furniture
A little piece of individuality for your home.
If you love furniture with character, depth and a little unexpected colour, this console might be just what you’re looking for.
Featuring a rich burgundy finish, contrasting black drawers, cupboard and decorative brass-tone hardware, this is a distinctive piece with an almost Asian-inspired, architectural quality.
The finish is all about the layers. Alongside the deep burgundy, there are subtle hints of rustic orange and copper, creating warmth and depth across the surface. These colours have been layered to give the finish greater richness and variation, rather than a flat, uniform appearance. Depending on the light, different tones come through, giving the piece its own individual personality.
This is a preloved piece of furniture that has been updated and given a new lease of life. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as vintage, but I love the idea of taking a piece that might otherwise be overlooked and giving it a fresh identity through colour and thoughtful detailing.
The contrasting black panels and dark legs balance the warmth of the layered finish, while the brass-tone fittings add another lovely detail.
The open lower shelf offers space for displaying a favourite ceramic, a few treasured books or an interesting collected object.
Styling ideas
I can imagine this working beautifully in a hallway, living room or dining space, particularly in an interior that mixes old and new, natural textures and individual finds.
Pair it with sculptural ceramics, dark wood, aged metallics or soft neutral walls to allow the layered colours to really shine.
Its slim profile also makes it a lovely option for narrower spaces where you want something distinctive without taking up too much room.

A little about McKay Designs Studio
I love giving furniture another chapter and exploring what can be achieved through colour, layering and individual detailing. For me, it’s about creating pieces that feel personal and have a little more soul than something straight off a production line.
This console is a celebration of rich colour, contrasting textures and individuality — perfect for a home that doesn’t simply follow trends.
Thank you for supporting my small creative business and choosing something a little different.
