A beautiful vintage German salt-glazed pottery bowl, with a wonderfully tactile, rustic finish and traditional blue floral decoration.
The bowl has a warm cream-coloured ground with a distinctive textured salt-glazed surface, decorated with hand-painted-style cobalt blue flowers and a simple floral border. The blue and cream combination gives it a timeless country pottery feel, while the natural variations in the glaze add plenty of character.
The interior has developed a lovely fine craquelure to the glaze, adding to its aged and authentic appearance.
A particularly attractive piece for lovers of vintage European pottery, rustic country interiors and collected ceramics. It would make a lovely decorative bowl displayed on a dresser, shelf or kitchen dresser, or could be used to hold fruit, bread or other everyday items.
Condition
Good vintage condition with the expected signs of age and use. There is fine crazing/craquelure to the interior glaze and some surface wear consistent with its age. The base also shows natural signs of previous use. Please study the photographs as these form part of the description.
