An original vintage piece with an artistic twist
For those who believe furniture should be more than just functional…
This vintage chest of drawers has been given a completely individual makeover, combining deep forest green with beautifully blended shades of turquoise, sea green and soft aqua.
The drawer fronts have been hand painted using layered colour blends to create a softly aged, almost patinated effect, with subtle variations in tone and a lovely sense of depth. The ornate central embellishments have been highlighted to bring out their sculptural detail, while the original-style decorative drawer knobs add another layer of character.
The frame is finished in a rich, deep forest green, creating a dramatic contrast with the luminous drawer fronts. Subtle highlights to the feet complete the look.
And there’s a little surprise inside, too. The drawer interiors have been lined with a botanical print, adding an unexpected decorative detail that makes opening each drawer a pleasure.
A piece for the creatively minded.
I can imagine this chest working beautifully in an eclectic bedroom, a characterful hallway or a creative studio. Style it against warm neutral walls, alongside vintage artwork, sculptural ceramics and natural textures, or embrace a more colourful interior and let it become part of a collected, individual scheme.
This isn’t mass-produced furniture designed to blend into the background. It’s a vintage piece with its own personality, reimagined by hand for a home that celebrates colour, craftsmanship and individuality.
